• Target Ingenieros y Asociados project management, afford those objectives with the following works:

  • Actual turf stripping and surface refining, with a carefully turf species selection with an standardize and hydrological efficiency criteria.

  • Complete greens and surroundings remodelling to improve and make easier the play and greens maintenance. Those works, as the others project chapters, follows USGA recommendations.

  • Bunkers remodelling, looking for a smaller maintenance surface and softening borders and slopes allowing a better humidity retention.

  • Fit the irrigation network with the new planned irrigated areas, which are going to be reduced, looking for hydrological efficiency and environmental and material cost savings.

  • Actual buggies trails remodelling to arrange them to the natural course topography, improving landscaping design and course aesthetic with a better teams maintenance access.

  • Improve cultivation layer structure to obtain a better soil quality both maintenance works and different turf species adaptation.

  • Sowing new turf species, according to the different play areas and hydrological needs.

  • Seal and waterproofing lakes and borders remodelling, to avoid filtrations and achieve a better landscape and fauna integration.

  • Mulch areas creation helping to outline the play area and irrigation surface reduction.

Length works will take about seven months, so the remodelling should be finished next summer.

San Roque complex includes two 18 holes courses, so called “Old Course” and “New Course”, and even if the second ones belongs to the municipality, the management of both courses is being done by “THORNCROFT SPAIN S.L.”. In addition to the courses, the complex has other smaller elements as a driving range, a putting green and a chipping green. The course to be remodelled is the “Old Course”, driving range, chipping range and putting green.

San Roque Golf Club is a high renewed club in Sotogrande area with a long history. “THORNCROFT SPAIN S.L.” corporation closed an agreement with Asahi Kanko Group, the club owner during the last twenty years, to buy the golf course and its premises, being the remodelling promoter.

San Roque Golf Club Old Course is at Sierra Bermeja foothills, close to the sea and was founded in 1990. Is an eighteen holes course par 72, designed by Dave Thomas and has received since its foundation, several redesign and others improvement works. Today is considered among the best European golf courses.
